We had great time at this year's parade as a contingent of 8 riders
represented the GRHC wearing a variety of costumes and riding several different breeds on Saturday, September 24th, 2011.
The GRHC then won 3rd place in the professional marching unit category! GRHC members, Pat Gregersen and Karen Ryan brought
their beautiful Arabians to the parade. While Megan Gregersen and Emily and Kate Ryan dressed in Arabian costumes to carry
the GRHC banner. Horses, riders, and walkers looked stunning in their traditional, intricate handmade costumes. They came
all the way from Blandford, MA to represent the GRHC!! Thank you Arabian contingent!
Thanks also to our Paso Fino Contingent
of Jose Rubero, Sue Waite, Blaine Garson, Jose Martinez and Leah Greenberger . This group has always represented the GRHC
in the parade for many years now. They did not disappoint us this year! Jose
Rubero, once again, put his stallion through
the paces of this regal breed for the reviewing stand and others. Jose Martinez brought his new stallion to show off. Leah's
Paso Fino was painted in bright colors and was portrayed as a unicorn as Leah lead the horse with her daughter dressed as
a fairy princess aboard. For western representation, GRHC members Carol Nobes and her daughter Lindsey Nobes road their quarter
horses. Thanks to all who made this day special.
Congratulations
on winning the Third Place Award for professional Marching Band
